2019年6月28日、国際図書館連盟（IFLA）の大都市図書館部会（Metropolitan Libraries Section）は、5月にフィンランド・ヘルシンキで開催した同部会の会議において、“IFLA Metropolitan Libraries Short Film Award”の2019年の受賞作品として、フィンランド・エスポー市図書館が作成した「フィンランドの図書館が世界一である100の理由」（100 Reasons why these Finnish libraries are the best in the world）を選んだと発表しています。

同賞は、イタリア図書館協会（AIB）主催の図書館・図書館員に関する短編フィルムのコンテスト“A Corto di libri”の一部で、応募作品の中から、大都市・大都市圏の公共図書館に関する最も優秀な短編フィルムに対して贈られる賞です。

授賞式はアテネで開催される世界図書館情報会議（WLIC）の会期中である8月27日に行われ、同作品は同会議のイベントにおいて上映される予定です。
