2017年8月18日、米国の非営利の報道機関ProPublicaが、Google News Lab及びデータ視覚化スタジオPitch Interactiveと連携し、ジャーナリストの記事作成を支援することを目的に、米国内で発生したヘイトクライムや差別事件に関するニュースを調べることができるデータベース“Documenting Hate News Index”を公開したと発表しています。

米国のヘイトクライムに関する全国データが欠如していることから作成されたもので、Google Newsで索引化されたニュースを対象に、地域や全国ニュースで報じられた関連事件や、ヘイトクライムに対抗するための法令やプログラムなどが、検索・フィルタリング・日付指定などにより調べることが可能です。情報は毎日更新されます。
