COUNTER（Counting Online Usage of NeTworked Electronic Resources）が、電子ジャーナル及びデータベースの利用データの記録と交換を管理するための実務指針（Code of Practice for Journals and Databases）の第3版の正式版がリリースされました。ドラフト版で示されていたように、SUSHI（Standardized Usage Statistics Harvesting Initiative）プロトコルが実務指針の中に組み込まれています。COUNTER準拠を謳うベンダーは、2009年8月31日までに、この第3版に準拠しなければならないとのことです。
なお、並行してSUSHIスキーマの改訂も行われており、こちらは2008年9月末までにリリースされるとされています。
