米国に12ある大統領図書館のひとつ、ジョン・Ｆ・ケネディ図書館の全コレクションをデジタル化すると、大統領図書館を監督する米国公文書館（NARA）が発表しました。(1)長期保存、(2)世界中からアクセス可能に、(3)メタデータを用いた検索性の向上、(4)災害に備えて別サイトで保管可能に、(5)物理的劣化の影響を最小限に、という5点が目的として挙げられており、10年以上かけて、ドキュメント、写真、録音記録などをデジタル化して、JFK図書館のウェブサイトから公開するそうです。
