2019年11月25日、フィンランドのヘルシンキ中央図書館（Oodi）は、独立記念日前日の2019年12月5日に開館1周年を記念したイベントを開催することを発表しました。12月5日には1日を通して、館内各所であらゆる年齢層を対象としたワークショップ・音楽演奏会等が開催されます。
翌11月26日には、開館からの1年間が大きな成功であったことを振り返る記事“Central Library Oodi’s first year has been a success”を投稿しています。開館以来の1年間で予想を大幅に上回る利用があり好意的なフィードバックを受けていることが振り返られています。また、IFLAの“Public Library of the Year”受賞をはじめ、カナダの建築雑誌“AZURE”が主催する国際建築賞“AZ Awards”でのピープルズ・チョイス賞の受賞、米・TIME誌の“World’s Greatest Places”リストへの掲載など、その活動や建築が多数の受賞・賞へのノミネートという形で評価されていることを紹介しています。
