2019年7月29日、Elsevier社は、米国を拠点とし人工知能を用いたSTM分野の曖昧性除去技術等を提供するParity Computing社の買収を発表しました。
Elsevier社のデータベースへParity Computing社から曖昧性除去技術が提供されることにより、著者名、機関名や論文・助成金・特許の引用状況・帰属状況など、出版物に現れる実体や関係性の曖昧さが解消され、Scopusの分析・意思決定支援機能の基盤が支えられる、としています。両社は協調して、Parity Computing社の既存の機能を強化しながら統合を深め、Parity Computing社の持つ機能をElsevier社の研究プラットフォームへ広く拡大する予定です。
Parity Computing社の機械学習・自然言語処理等に長けたコアチームは、Scopus、SciVal等を支えるElsevier社の研究製品チームへ参加する予定です。
