デンマークのDanish Agency for Cultureが、建築事務所のSchmidt Hammer Lassen Architectsのスポンサーにより開始した“schmidt hammer lassen architects – Public Library of the Year Award 2014”が、オーストラリアのクレイギーバーン図書館（Craigieburn Library；ビクトリア州）に贈られたとのことです。
この賞は、Danish Agency for Culture等によって開始された“Model Programme for Public Libraries”のスピンオフの企画であり、新しく建てられた図書館から、優れた建築を表彰するもののようです。
The Guardian（オンライン）が、この賞の発表にあわせて、オーストラリアの美しい図書館10館の写真を掲載しています。
なお、この発表は、リヨンで開催された国際図書館連盟（IFLA）・世界図書館情報会議（WLIC）年次大会において行われています。
