“Catcher in the Rye”等の小説で知られ、2010年に91歳で死去したサリンジャー（J.D. Salinger）の出版されていない短編小説3点が、2013年11月27日にファイル共有サービスを通じて流出していたことが報じられています。
流出していたのは”The Ocean Full of Bowling Balls”、”Birthday Boy”、”Paula”の3点がまとめられたPDFファイルで、招待制のBitTorrentサイト”What.CD”で共有されていました（現在は既に削除済み）。これらの作品は出版されておらず、原稿はサリンジャーからプリンストン大学図書館に寄贈されていましたが、サリンジャーの死後50年は公開しない条件がつけられていました。流出したファイルの元になった版は確定していませんが、プリンストン大学の原稿ではなく、eBayオークションに9月に出品されていたペーパーバックではないかと報道等では推測されています。
