2013年2月22日、ペルー国立図書館（BNP）とDEVIDA（la Comisio’n Nacional para el Desarrollo y Vida sin Drogas；ドラッグのない発展と生活のための国家委員会）が、コカ栽培地域における図書館設置のための協力協定を結んだと発表しました。
これは、BNPが進めている図書館による地域振興キャンペーン「発展のための種」の一つとして位置づけられるものです。この合意により、DEVIDAはドラッグに関する教育・科学的な情報や文書等の保存や提供を実施し、BNPはドラッグに詳しい専門の図書館員を派遣して、学生や研究者への情報サービスにあたることになっています。
