2012年11月27日、ニュージーランド国立図書館ウェリントン館が、3年間の改修工事を経て、再開館しました。
1階に新たにつくられたTe Ahumairangiは、机を少なくした開放的な空間となっており、Wifi環境を提供して利用者はPCやプリンタ、スキャナ等が利用できるようになっています。また、デジタル化資料の検索等ができるLifelinesという大きなタッチパネルを備えていたり、Big Dataという展示やセミナーのための空間も用意されています。
また再開館にあわせて、同館のウェブサイトも新しくなり、資料検索がより快適になったとのことです。
