メリーランド州のアンアルンデル郡(Anne Arundel County)の図書館で、メイカースペース（創作スペース）を設置する動きがあることが、Crofton West County Gazette紙で取り上げられています。

アンアルンデル郡図書館では、貸出数、来館者数、イベント参加者数などの指標によるランキングが州内でも最も下の方に位置するとのことで、その改善のためメイカースペースの導入を検討していることのようです。

メイカースペースとは、DIY愛好者などに創作のスペースやツールを提供するものです。
