2012年5月24日付けのイタリア等の各紙によると、イタリア・ナポリの最も古い図書館であるジロラミーニ（Girolamini）図書館で、同館が所蔵する貴重な歴史的資料が盗まれる事件が発生し、この結果、容疑者として同館の館長とキュレータ等5名が逮捕されたようです。ジロラミーニ図書館は、16世紀に建設されたもので、盗まれたのは16世紀から19世紀までの楽譜や図書資料、計257点とのことです。同館の職員が設置した監視カメラに、館長が資料を持ち出している様子が映っていたことから発覚したようです。
