2012年3月16日に、アイルランド図書館会議（Chomhairle Leabharlanna）が、同国に32ある公共図書館局（public library authority）の2012年予算の年次統計を公表しました。2012年の公共図書館サービス予算は前年比で2.6％減であること、全体での図書館資料費は2011年と比較し12.1％減少していること等が示されているようです。
