欧州および英国における子どものインターネット利用に関する調査報告書

2010年11月15日付けで、英国のロンドン・スクール・オブ・エコノミクス(London School of Economics and Political Science : LSE)が手がけるプロジェクト“EU Kids Online II”から、“Risks and safety for children on the internet: the UK report”と題された報告書が公開されています。“EU Kids Online II”とは、EU各国の子どもとその親のインターネットの利用とその安全性について調査する2009-2011年までのプロジェクトで、上記の報告書は、同プロジェクトが10月21日に公開した調査報告書“Risks and safety on the internet: The perspective of European children. Initial Findings”の中から、英国に関するデータに基づいてまとめたものとのことです。なお、10月に公開された調査報告書では、EU25か国の9歳から12歳までの23,000人の子どもを対象に実施された調査結果がまとめられているようです。主な結果として、半数以上の子どもが、インターネットが理由で、家族や友達、学校の勉強に対して本来費やすべき時間より少ない時間しか費やせなかったと答えた、インターネットを多用していると回答した子どもは、欧州全体では30%であったのに対して、英国の子どもは43%であった等が挙げられているとのことです。
