2010年10月29日付けのChronicle of Higher Educationの記事によると、Apple社のiTunes Uから、英国オクスフォード大学（Oxford University）やオープンユニバーシティ（the Open University）等の提供する電子書籍のダウンロードが可能になったとのことです。提供されているのは、オクスフォード大学から、シェイクスピアの戯曲作品集である1623年の“First Folio”、オープンユニバーシティから100タイトル、そして米国ライス大学（Rice University）のプロジェクト“Connexions”から18タイトルのようです。また、それらの電子書籍はすべてePUB形式で提供されているとのことです。
