ハイチ国立図書館長からの報告によると、ハイチ国立図書館の建物は無事だったということです。スタッフの半数の無事も確認されています。ただし、図書館を含め多くの教育施設が倒壊しているという現地情報が寄せられています。国際図書館連盟（IFLA）では、特別にウェブページを設け、各国の図書館関係者から寄せられた、ハイチの地震に関する情報を集約しています。
