米国議会図書館（LC）を中心に進められているWorld Digital Library構想に、サウジアラビアのKing Abdullah University of Science and Technology (KAUST)が加わると発表されています。
LCのWorld Digital Libraryは貴重書や手稿などひとつしかない歴史的文化遺産を世界各地の図書館等と協同でデジタル化し無料公開しようとするプロジェクトですが、KAUSTが加わることでアラブ・イスラム圏の科学史資料が豊富になるとしています。
