英国の王立盲人援護協会（Royal National Institute for the Blind: RNIB）と盲人図書館（National Library for the Blind: NLB）が、2007年4月に合併します。組織の効率化、寄付受付の一本化、利用者の利便性の向上などが、合併の理由・目的として挙げられています。後継組織はRNIBです。両機関はFAQなどで、周知を行っています。
