2019年6月17日、米国のジョン・F・ケネディ大統領図書館（John F. Kennedy Presidential Library and Museum）は、1969年7月20日のアポロ11号月面着陸からまもなく50周年を迎えることを記念し、AR（拡張現実）を利用してアポロ11号のミッションを追体験できるアプリ“JFK Moonshot”の公開を発表しました。iOS版・Android版が提供されています。
アポロ11号の打ち上げからちょうど50年後となる2019年7月16日午前9時32分（米国東部標準時）に、アプリ内でも打ち上げが行われ、月面着陸までの5日間のミッションをリアルタイムで追跡できます。
また、ボストンにあるジョン・F・ケネディ大統領図書館の外には、高さ363フィート（約111m）、実物大のアポロ11号（サターンV型ロケット）がARオブジェクトとして設置されており、アプリを通じて、現地では実物大ロケットの打ち上げシミュレーションを体験できるとあります。
その他、アプリ内ではアポロ11号のミッションをより深く学ぶことができるARゲーム等も提供されています。
