2018年9月4日、米・コーネル大学内の機関であるCornell Computing and Information Science（CIS）が、同大学図書館が運営するプレプリントサーバarXivを2019年1月にCISに移管する予定であることを発表しました。
この移管は、最適なサービスの提供とインフラの持続のために必要なものであると説明されており、また、利用者への影響はないとされています。
