2016年11月29日、米国議会図書館（LC）は、米国デジタル公共図書館（Digital Public Library of America：DPLA）のコンテンツ・ハブになる覚書を、DPLAと締結しました。
まずは、LCの地図コレクションから、独立戦争、南北戦争、鳥瞰図の各コレクションの5,000点が追加されます。
LCは過去、HathiTrustや「生物多様性遺産図書館」（Biodiversity Heritage Library）の参加館として10万冊以上の図書をデジタル化しましたが、これら2機関はDPLAのパートナーであるため、これらの図書はすでにDPLAのコレクションに含まれています。
LCは今後、写真、地図、楽譜など、デジタル化資料の大部分をDPLAのコレクションに追加するとのことです。
