米国図書館協会（ALA)傘下の大学・研究図書館協会(ACRL)が、学生の知識や学業面での達成度への学術図書館の貢献を明らかにした報告書“Documented Library Contributions to Student Learning and Success: Building Evidence with Team-Based Assessment in Action Campus Projects”を公開しています。
報告書では、その証拠として以下の4点を確認しています。
1.図書館活用（情報リテラシー）教育が学生の能力を向上させていること。
2.図書館の利用が学業達成度（成績評価・在籍率）を増進させていること。
3.図書館が大学内の他組織と共同して行う教育プログラムが学生の知識を強化（進学面、学術面での自信、在籍率）していること。
4.情報リテラシー教育が学生の教養の成果（問題解決能力）を強化していること。
