Oxford University Pressが『オクスフォード英語辞典』（OED）オンライン版の2014年6月の更新で、第一次世界大戦開戦から100年を機に、第一次世界大戦に関する一部の語彙の改定を行ったことを発表しました。第一次世界大戦を特徴づける100語として選ばれた単語を表示する画像つきの年表も公開されています。
また、今季の更新としてhashtagやselfieを含む500以上の新しい語も追加されたとのことです。
