米国アリゾナ州モハーヴェ郡において、意思決定機関である監理委員会（Board of Supervisors）が、図書館への銃の持ち込み規制を撤廃する決定をしたと、地元紙などが報じています。2013年7月1日に行われた会議においては、複数の人が意見を述べ、学校や教会同様に銃を持ち込むのに適した場所ではない等の意見も述べられたとのことですが、5名の委員は規制を撤廃すると全員一致で決定をしたとのことです。モハーヴェ郡においては、役所（county administration building）への銃の持ち込み規制も撤廃されています。
なお、地元紙の記事によると、郡の図書館では毎月50の子供向けプログラムが開催され年間1万2,000件以上の利用があるとのことです。
