2013年1月28日、英国図書館（BL）が、“Georeferencer Project”への参加協力者を募集するプレスリリースを発表しました。同プロジェクトへの協力呼びかけはこれで3回目となります。
この“Georeferencer Project”は、BLの地図資料と現在のオンライン地図上の地点とを結びつけ、Google Earth上にオーバーレイするクラウドソーシングプロジェクトです。今回、BLの450万点の地図資料の中から800点が選ばれ、一般利用者によるマッピング協力が呼びかけられています。なお、これまでにマッピングされた資料は、BLのOld Maps Onlineで提供されているとのことです。
