2011年12月15日、ルーマニア国立図書館（Biblioteca Nationala a Romaniei）の新館が完成したそうです。Romania Business Insider紙の11月16日付けの記事によると、新館が正式開館するのは2012年春で、その秋には同館は新館へ完全に移転し、2013年には書庫に保管されている蔵書を新館に移す作業が行われるそうです。新館の建設はチャウシェスク大統領の時代に開始されたものの、1989年の革命後に建設が中断されていたそうです。
