イスラエルのEx Libris社が2011年1月に発表し、現在開発中のクラウド型次世代図書館システム“Alma”は、5月に第3弾、9月に第4弾のパートナー向けリリースがアナウンスされ、2012年初期のリリースが予定されています。米国のボストン・カレッジ、プリンストン大学、パーデュー大学、ベルギーのルーヴェン・カトリック大学をはじめとして、Almaの開発に関わっている図書館の数も増加しているようです。11月17日付けの発表では、初期導入館プログラム（early adopter programme）に英国のヨーク大学やランカスター大学など欧州の9機関が参加し、これで、3大陸にわたる計60以上の機関が協力に加わっていることになったとされています。
